ANS Gives 2026 Trustees' Award to Toledo Museum of Art Director Adam M. Levine

On November 24, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the American Numismatic Society announced that the 2026 Trustees' Award has been given to Adam M. Levine, the Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey President, Director, and CEO at the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA).
Recognition for the ANS Move to Toledo
According to the release, the award recognizes Levine's assistance and partnership with the ANS in facilitating the future relocation of the Society to Toledo, Ohio. It was to be presented at the ANS Annual Gala on January 15, 2026, at the Harvard Club of New York.
ANS Sydney F. Martin Executive Director Ute Wartenberg said:

Levine's Career
Levine joined TMA in 2012 as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow and later served as deputy director and curator of ancient art before becoming director. He oversees the museum's $23.5 million budget and 220 employees, and advanced the museum's first campus master plan.
Before TMA, he was director and CEO of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida, and a collections management assistant in the Greek and Roman Art Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
He graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and, as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, earned a master's degree and a doctorate in the history of art. In 2009, he took part in the ANS Eric P. Newman Graduate Summer Seminar in Numismatics. He is currently a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Toledo.
The Trustees' Award and the Gala
The Trustees' Award was established in 2003 and honors those who have helped in extraordinary ways to forward the mission of the ANS. The Annual Gala supports the Society's mission to advance the research, education, and appreciation of numismatics through ticket sales, sponsorships, advertising and other donations.
The ANS was organized in 1858 and incorporated in 1865 in New York State, and operates as a research museum.
