CSNS Sets 87th Anniversary Convention for April 23-25, 2026, With a Missouri Theme

The Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS) 87th Anniversary Convention Coin Show will be held April 23-25, 2026. The show will recognize Missouri as part of a continuing multi-year program to honor all 13 states that make up the society's geographical area.

The convention will be held at the same suburban Chicago site as in recent years, the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. Parking at the hotel and convention center is free for visitors and guests.

1,000 Quarters to Be Given Away

According to CSNS President Mitch Ernst, the society will give away 1,000 Ozark National Scenic Riverways quarters dated 2017. The coin commemorates 134 miles of rivers in southeastern Missouri, and its design depicts Alley Mill, a steel roller mill built in 1894.

While supplies last, the quarters will be available one per visitor at the CSNS club tables (A2 and A3). The coins, from the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, were donated by Littleton Coin Company.

Only Missouri-Related Exhibits

As part of the theme, collectors are encouraged to set up Missouri-related exhibits. Jack Huggins, CSNS Secretary/Treasurer and 2026 Exhibits Chairman, said Missouri has an interesting history of coins, tokens and medals, as well as 19th-century National Bank Notes issued by more than 260 banks. He said only Missouri-related exhibits will be displayed in the revamped collector's exhibit area. Exhibitor applications are available on the CSNS website.

Dealers, Grading Services and the Auction

The show will feature more than 400 dealers' tables with coins, bullion, tokens, medals and paper money. The Newman Numismatic Portal will present educational programs each day.

ANACS, CAC Grading Service, Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) will accept on-site submissions. Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) will also accept submissions and offer on-site grading and encapsulation.

Heritage Auctions, at booth #800, is the Official Auctioneer for the convention. Lot viewing will be in the Nirvana Ballroom on the second level of the convention center. Heritage President Greg Rohan said the CSNS Convention "remains one of the most important numismatic auction events of the year," and that Heritage, celebrating its 50th year, is proud to remain the Official Auctioneer.

Admission and Hotel

Admission is $15 per day or $30 for a three-day pass. CSNS members and visitors 17 and under are admitted free. Ordering tickets in advance online gives a $5 discount.

Convention Manager Cindy Wibker encouraged attendees to book hotel rooms early. Discount rates of $179 per night (plus taxes) are available at the adjoining Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel. More information was to be posted on the CSNS website in the following weeks, according to the report.
