Elsen Puts Auction 163 Catalogue Online, Sale Scheduled for November 6-8, 2025
On September 24, 2025, the coin auction house Elsen announced that the catalogue for its 163rd public auction was online. The sale was scheduled for November 6, 7 and 8, 2025, and covered ancient, medieval, modern and oriental coins as well as jetons, medals and orders.

Three Days of Sessions
Elsen announced that the catalogue of its 163rd public auction was online. The sale was scheduled for November 6, 7 and 8, 2025.
The first day, Thursday, November 6, was to open with ancient Greek, Celtic, Roman and Byzantine coins, followed by medieval coins. The medieval section was to include a gold solidus of Louis the Pious, which Elsen described as exceptional.
On Friday, November 7, the sale was to present coins of the Low Countries and Belgium, a selection of shipwreck coins and the first part of the modern coins.
The final day, Saturday, November 8, was to cover the second part of the modern coins, oriental coins, a collection of ancient Chinese and Far Eastern coins, and jetons, medals and orders. The sale was also to feature a collection of maritime-themed coins from all periods.
Bidding and Viewing
Pre-sale bidding was to close on Wednesday, November 5, at 4 pm CET. Online bidding was available on elsen.bidinside.com, and users were asked to register by Tuesday, November 4, at the latest. Accounts from earlier auctions remained active.
The lots could be viewed at Elsen's office from October 6 to November 5, by appointment only.
Elsen said it was preparing its next auctions and invited inquiries about valuation or consignment of coins and medals by telephone or email.
