Member GeorgeM wrote that they had cherry picked a large group of Morgan and Peace dollars the other day and came across what appears to be a 1923 Peace dollar.
According to GeorgeM, the coin has an obverse die crack similar to the Hot-30 and Top-100 varieties. However, GeorgeM wrote that the crack in Liberty's hair is further to the east, and that there is no secondary die crack running down from the bun.
GeorgeM asked whether it was a known VAM or something 100-plus years "new." The thread title says the coin is not VAM-1a, VAM-1ab or VAM-1AN.
The reply
Member Pickin and Grinin replied, "Looks like VAM 1AE," and pointed to the "1923-P VAM-1AE" page on VAMWorld.
GeorgeM answered, "Nice! That does look like the same spot." This is the poster's impression; the thread does not show that the coin has been confirmed as VAM-1AE.
