CoinTalk Members Play a Picture Game: Post a Coin of the Same Type or the Same Date
On the collector forum CoinTalk, a member started a game in which members post pictures of coins that match the previous coin's type or date. A medal with the same date can be used as a "Wild Card." The source does not give the date of the posts.

A thread on the collector forum CoinTalk, titled "Follow the lead picture post.", is a game in which members post coin pictures one after another, each following the coin before it. The source does not give the date of the posts. What follows is what members posted.
How the game works
The member who started the thread, ldhair, explained the rules. To start, someone posts a picture of any commemorative half or any coin dated 1936 or 1934. The next player can play off any date shown on the last coin. If someone posts a 1936 Washington quarter, for example, the next post must be another Washington quarter or anything dated 1936.
Medals as a "Wild Card"
Another member, cpm9ball, asked whether medals of the same date could be used as a Wild Card "like before," and ldhair agreed. As cpm9ball explained, a medal with the same date as the last coin lets the next poster change to any other denomination. cpm9ball also noted that a member cannot post the medal as a wild card and another coin in succession within the same post.
How the thread went
cpm9ball wrote that the version ldhair started on the NGC forum had been running since May 30, 2006, with 184 pages, 93,581 views and 3,678 posts.
Posts that followed included an elongated 1919 Lincoln cent, a 1934 Wild Card from cpm9ball, and a coin captioned "1934 Merc". When a member posted a dollar that did not follow the rules, ldhair pointed to the first post and brought the game back on track. Washington quarters followed, and after ldhair said the next play should be "a Washington quarter or anything dated 1947," cpm9ball posted a picture captioned "1947 Balboa."
